I have a 2003 266 and my origional HPDI 200 motors with 850 hours are starting to become less and less reliable. It seems like I get a new suprise every time I go for a ride.
I have my eye on Suzuki and Yamaha; but leaning towards suziki.
I was pretty happy with what I got out of the 200's, but I think this hull is rated for 500HP, so 225s or 250s are in consideration.
I'm pretty sure I want fly-by-wire operation and as much data collection and fuel monitoring I could get.
Just not sure where to start... Talk to a local motor dealer? Where does pne start?

I'm jealous.
Zuke is probably your best bet for more immediate availability. Do you have a local Zuke dealer?
The new light weight V6 Mercs are interesting but I think like Yamaha they are back ordered. Probably worth starting out by calling your local dealers to get ETA's on delivery by manufacturer.

I think right now I'm hunting for the specs of the max HP / weight I can set on the transom.

"Just not sure where to start... Talk to a local motor dealer? Where does pne start?" research user repower experiences, tht and youtube are good resources, lots of comparable sized contender repower stories to learn from talk with several dealers
repowered my 2006 2660 with 2020 merc V6 225s came from yam f150s same weight (gave this significant consideration for scupper clearance concerns) same mounting hole locations greater torque 15-20% greater speed at same rpm 5-10% less fuel burn for typical fishing trip

Thank you for the feedback. Just beginning the same research. I have an '07 2660 with 200 HPDIs. I was not considering Mercs at all, but this is good info.
