I'm in NJ. I haven't had much luck this year with fluke (sorry, "summer flounder"). We only got one keeper and a few smaller ones. The biggest discouragement was when we went out all day for fluke-caught none-came back and found one in my crab trap. I think the issue is that I need a bigger boat. The 360CC should work. Then I'd be able to catch some doormats.

They are all down in NC where you can't fish for them! So yes, a bigger boat will be needed to get there.

Hmm, they hang out where they can't be fished? Smart.

I caught more NJ fluke in my 22'regal bowrider then my 245dc, but you should still buy a bigger boat.

My son-in-law swears that the 65' boat he used to fish on caught more fish than when we had a 28' Albemarle. He was convinced it was the size of the boat. Got to tell you, if a line didn't hit in 15 minutes he'd reel it in and and change lures or bait. With the 65' they often had up to 12 lines out when they were out after tuna and he'd come home beat from changing baits and catching fish. Always brought us tuna after a trip so I'm pretty sure they always caught some.
The 65' is gone now, but one of the doctors that owned half of it has a 35 footer and he takes my son-in-law out after tuna and he still brings us tuna, just not as often. On the 65' they were out almost every weekend (summer in VA Beach, winter offshore Hatteras).
Yup...you need a bigger boat.

So, it's unanimous. Boats too small to catch anything. Plus, I read on another forum that price drops are right around the corner. DMBekus , I agree. I caught more fluke on my 21 foot Chaparral. EDIT: Well, now that I think about it, I guess I did have that boat a lot longer, so I'm just going to have to be patient and keep trying. Also, I did get slammed around a lot on the way to fishing grounds in the Chap.
