Does anyone watch Boats vs Haulover, The Chit Show, Miami Boat Ramps, etc? I hate to laugh at other's misfortune, but I've actually learned a lot by watching people do the wrong thing and then try to correct themselves. I've done plenty wrong myself and always try to consider what went wrong. Watching others do it speeds up the process. Plus, there's nothing else on the TV anyway. Only complaint is the lack of Sailfish boats. Maybe we don't do anything stupid?

I love watching all of those, and more including some folks who sail around the world and have adventures all over the place. It's my escape to a happy place when I just need a few minutes of boat time when I can't get out on my own. The inlet and boat ramp videos are stressfull at times to watch, but the sailing folks are more into exploring new places and enduring boat life at sea with all it has to offer and take from you. I'm not really a sailor at heart but have a dream of just going off for months at a time and living onboard seeing the world, and that's not very feasible on a power boat, at least at my income level!

Nice. I've been watching the Point Pleasant Canal videos too since it's (kind of) local.

There are videos of guys who boat from the northeast to Florida and stop along the way. That's something I might plan on doing when the time is right (ie, retirement.)

Some to search for: Sailing Zatara (sailing family in the Med right now), Gone with the Wynns (quirky couple always doing something fun but currently in between boats in Thailand), Sailing Ruby Rose (Brits also between boats but have been filming the contruction of their new boat which is about to be delivered), Tula's Endless Summer (Newlywed couple just took delivery of their first new sailing catamaran, but previously have done some spectaular work refurbishing old boats and having adventures along the way), Sailing Doodles (boat porn that isn't quite X rated), Beau and Brandy Sailing (another couple doing work on their boat while cruising), The O'Kelley's (another couple in between boats currently so less content to watch from them right now) and Sailing Nahoa (young Canadian family who just completed a circumnavigation and are crossing the Atlantic from Africa, headed to South America and the Carribean). Lots of good boat maintenance tips on all of these channels as they are constantly fixing or upgrading stuff no matter which channel you are watching.

footy3 that Dixie cup was being used because the larger red solo cup was full of beer! Typical Florida headlines start with "Florida man says "Here, hold my beer", then does X (something stupid)"

That was a huge factor in my decision to get a Sailfish. High freeboard, nice V and a self bailing cockpit. (It's easy on the eyes too). In the video, it looks like the bilge pump is working, but it's just a trickle compared to what went into the boat.

Jupiter Inlet at dawn, Sailfish 2660 representing! Having been through the Jupiter Inlet I’ll tell you those conditions are one in a hundred trips. It’s a nasty inlet that the captain best be up on his skills when going through. But, the Sailfish is certainly a model that can bite back.

There are some big boats in that video. I would imagine that some are charters, but part of what I love about boating is feeling the wind blasting over the windshield or getting the occasional droplets of water. Even washing the boat is relaxing. I watch Below Deck with my wife, and I'd much rather be on the deck crew than be a guest.

Absolutely, I completely agree. Most of the guests look like pain in the a$$ people to deal with though. Just put me on the crew when passengers aren't there!
