Hello all...Newbie to Sailfish forums...may be dropping hammer on the subject boat this week...I know it is underpowered, but none avail on the west coast with a 200+...set up is similar to the Hydra Sports 2000WA, but Sailfish is about 500 lbs lighter with the same Yama 150/Stainless prop and a steeper deadrise, so I'm hoping it would be decent in the 24 to 28mph range in our usual medium chop...using in Puget Sound/San Juans...no need to go offshore...any thoughts/experience would be much appreciated. Thanks for any reply.

It may not be as underpowered as you think. The only way to know for sure is to see how she runs, and same goes for fuel burn rate. I can say that the 150 should be pretty miserly unless you have to run it at or near WOT just to get it to cruise, which I doubt. Let us know how you come out with it!

In 2017 I was at the west coast in Dana Point. Bought a Sailfish 220CC with Yami 150. It handel the Pacific quiet well. Born about 9 GPH with 4000 to 4500 RPM in the seepd range of 25 MPH. It depeend on the Chop and trim tap postion. Boat is now relocated to Spain.

I got the 06 WAC with a Minn Kota on the bow and numbers can get better when wind and current are in your favor
