Dropped the lower units to do water pumps, surprise. Star board rubber balancing bushing disintegrated. Happy I came out early

Na $26 rubber bushing. I shoved a rag soaked in salt away in the opening. It should clean all the salt out. Then with a little luck slip the new rubber in.🫰 The reflection off the light makes the photo look worse than it is.

Good! I was worried you were in for a new mid section. Let us know how it comes out!

Fairly common. Should be easy fix.

Are the photos looking up into the mid-section or down on the lower section?

Well done! Is that a press-fit? It also looks asymmetrical, so is there some sort of orientation key slot that we can't see? Tell us what you did to remove and replace (I wanna learn!).

Not a pressed fit bushing. The hardest step was cleaning out the opening it was closed up with salt build up. No key, and I have no idea why the locking ring is shaped like it is. Maybe to give more of the ring to hold in the bushing.
