Yeah, ok, that would work on my Yamaha, my Suzuki, on my 15" whaler doesn't have a hose though, to flush it there is a female hose thread on the engine with a "plug" that screws in and out, so you unscrew the plug and screw in a garden hose. When running, if the plug is not in place water just pours out the port instead of cooling the engine. I'm afraid to leave something attached that stick out too far, like a shut-off coupling, for fear it would get snapped off. That was the attraction to the original item for 80 bucks, it would only stick out an inch and a half or something. Attachments:

Sorry Capt I thought the quick connect was for yamaha. Suzuki & Mercury are totally different.
