$80 seems very high to me. But it's for a boat and anything for a boat is automatically 3x more expensive than the same thing not meant for a boat. If you put it in a package that has the word "Marine" on it anywhere I think by law you have to raise the price...

Amazon last year I got a 7 or 8 pack of quick connect fittings for $29. One on each motor, two for the flush out Y flush hose I made and one for the hose and one for the salt away.

I concur. My daughter got married this past September so I attest to that truth.
I was glad that the bride and groom wanted to keep things small, intimate and as inexpensive as is reasonably possible. Their goals are more than a big expensive event that is over in hours. We must have done something right with her as she was growing up!

Looks cool. I bought something similiar for my Merc. The Mercury engines have a short length of hose the goes into the cowling. When I tried it out, the hose gets kinked because it doesn't get pulled all the way out. I could probably rig up a shorter length of hose, but I just never got around to it. I would imagine it would work for the Yamahas. I don't know much about Suzuki though. $80 seems high, but I admit that I've spent more on less useful stuff for the boat.

The problem with all the quick connect fittings I've found is if I leave it in the engine, water pours out and the engine overheats. The only thing I've seen to stop the water flow out the male end is to leave the female counterpart in place with a shutoff, then it becomes pretty bulky and prone to getting snapped off. These have a little cap that snaps in place, which is what makes them attractive. Not 80 bucks attractive though....

1 on the motor female,,,1 on the hose that normally is connected male, when their together it functions as if they are screwed together from the factory. Impossible for any water to leak.

Yes never remove it, in place of hand turning the hose to connect its a quick release. Mine do not leak any water.

On the Yamaha factory design, once you disconnect the hose connection to connect your hose to flush, the female end connected to the motor practically always pushes the rubber hose gasket out. Since it is positioned over the water you are guaranteed to loose the gaskets on a regular basis. Until I attached a set of mating quick disconnects to the motor I had to keep a bunch of gaskets aboard as spares. Now I never loose them and can rapidly connect my Y-hose that allows flushing both engines at the same time. My Y hose has a valve that allows one side or the other to flush at a time if I want higher pressure flushing for a time too.
