As the second owner of a 2017 hull, I expect to have to fix stuff that breaks or fails. And, there are not any dealerships near-by (40 miles to closest one).
I do want to acknowledge the manufacturer's responsiveness to questions & willingness to be helpful. Having used their website contact page twice since May, they have always replied within one day and been good to work with.
Here's to Sailfish boats & may they continue to be so good to work with!

That is great to hear. Customer service is key in any business.

I have dealt with Gerald at Sailfish a few times to deal with some problems on my 2018 DC245, seems to be a very nice guy, and very fair. Can I make a suggestion that one of the Moderators reach out to him and encourage him to join the board. I've seen that type of relationship on other boards, and it's a great resource to the members and to the company.

We have and Denny was very active on the old site. At this time they do not want to participate in forums, but hopefully they will reconsider in the future. The old site had a few posters that really bashed Sailfish quality and it left a bad taiste in the company's mouth. I hope we can keep this board positive and help build the Sailfish image. It will only help to have a positive brand image, especially when it comes time to sell. I know boats are going to have problems, but let's help each other work through them, not bad mouth the company.

I agree, every boat is going to have problems, unfortunately mine has a few. Gerald and Sailfish are "doing the right thing" so I don't have any real complaints. My opinion, he's going to miss an opportunity to deal with problems in a positive way by not participating in a forum like this. Let's face it, any big purchase, home, boat, car, appliance there might be problems. i think what sends most people off the deep end where they start bashing, let's say Ford, is because they just dropped $55k on a new lariat pickup and the dealer is giving them some runaround bs on fixing an obvious problem. Hopefully he'll reconsider. I have to say, when I was shopping, I also looked at some Cobias, and really was impressed in my research at the factory support and interaction I found on Cobia owner's forum. I think Sailfish's support has been great in my case, and they should get the public benefit of my experience by participating in a forum like this, it would be great for them. The bashers are going to be out there no matter what the product is, but at least on a forum liek this you get to show the world how you are being fair as a manufacturer and show the world your side of the story. There's always going to be a customer who wants all his money refunded, be given a new boat free of charge and a lifetime of free gas to make up for the inconvenience that his 9 year old icemaker is only producing half the ice it should, when that guy bashes the company and they tell their side of the story, people know what time it is.....

It isn't worth it for these companies to get involved in public forums where at times discussions often end in pissing matches, it is why very few manufacturers interact openly on much larger forums like The Hull Truth. If it were beneficial to their brand they would be there.
Wylie from Yellowfin used to participate on THT, but stopped, as have a several other manufacturers.
I dont blame them, I'd do the same thing.
What will continue to benefit SF the most is continuing to provide good customer service, a quality product and owners sharing their experiences - for better or worse
I more often then not see bashing of a brand or service due in large part do to unreasonable expectations by an owner, an owner that either didnt adequately diligence the boat they were buying and/or didn't have it surveyed before buying or unfairly places blame at the feet of the manufacturer for perceived design flaws that are common across many brands. This is why manufacturers dont want to participate, it is a no win proposition for them.

In my opinion over the years their customer service is gotten much better 10 years ago it was hit-or-miss. There used to be a lot more bashing of sailfish because of their customer service years ago but that seems to be far and few between these days. like any other product be it a boat a vehicle there's going to be people that can never be satisfied. I recently just dealt with sailfish and they were very accommodating.
