Ran 20+ miles south to look for dinosaurs and found'm. Caught her on light tackle 2500 series spinning reel. She was +/-50lbs. Found the birds on radar and found her.

Awesome way to end the season buddy! Nice catch, good use of the radar to track the action, and a good day for you I'm sure! Congrats and start counting the days until the 2024 season begins!

Thanks. It will be difficult to top this epic winter light tackle bite. It was truly an extraordinary season. Glad I kept the boat iIn the water. BTW it's all C&R. The radar was on point today. For whatever damn reason I don't have any binoculars on the boat so I really counted on the radar to find the flocks. Hell 2 miles out would be hard to spot them even with binoculars. Here's another shot of another flock I found. I was the only boat on the flock and feeding fish. Ran straight to them leaving another spot, saw them 2 miles out, took the shot about mile from them.

Great catch and good use of radar. Been awhile since I've seen a flock like that on radar.
Oh, binoculars? Damn near put my eye out trying to use them on the boat. I decided to put them away a few years back.

I decided to put them away a few years back. Funny I was fishing next to two binocular boats when I picked up the above flock on radar. That flock was essentially on the eastern side of the bay, I was fishing the western side. They never saw them. I saw the tell tail signs on the radar and tool off towards the return and boom. Birds and fish all to myself. The other vultures never did see them.

Nawww that fish was caught yesterday, I was out just me. My son decided to go out with a friend rather than dad and he was rewarded with a skunk and froze his ass off in 30 degree temps with no curtains.

Good job!!! I hope you give your son crap for not going with the master. Richard not 15 minutes after he sent me a text telling me they went in around 11am cause they couldn't take the cold anymore, telling me they were skunked I sent him that picture, followed by some other pics of fish. He also got up at 6am to go out, while me on the other hand rolled out of bed around 8am, had my coffee, some breakfast, got some gas and I didn't get to my spot until around 1045, landing her in the first 40 min of being out. I got home a few hours later he was passed out asleep. Lmao

He caught this with me a few days earlier.

Never pass up on an opportunity... All ball busting aside very nice way to end your season. Next season the boat will be in dry storage while you sit around your pool sipping cocktails.
