The 2nd Certification is due, 6 years. $800 +/-- yikes. One of the items one hates to pay. But if your 60 miles offshore and the shit hits the fan it's well spent money. Anyone else have there's services just wondering how much prices vary.

I had my first service done it wasn't nearly that much. I'm due for my 2nd it's been expired a couple of years. I was told the cost gets more expensive the 2nd 3rd inspections since they have to replace more safety stuff then.
I need to take mine to Vane Brothers this spring to get it current.
Still cheaper than buying a new one.

I have one of these, bought it 5 years ago, about $900, 3 year service cycle. It hasn’t been serviced because I am simply not going offshore anymore. But 2 years ago I was told the service was about $400. This is a basic 6 person raft in a 25 pound briefcase, no roof or extra supplies. But that is what your ditching bag is for which has the emergency electronics, etc. The more sophisticated features of a raft are more expensive, heavier, and will have the higher recurring service costs. I don’t know what the expected life of an inflatable is but I would doubt it would go much beyond 10 years, so maybe 2 or 3 services and it’s condemned. But if you are catching those $500,000 bluefin tunas, it’s peanuts. www.survivalatsea.com/liferafts/recreational/coastal/crewsaver-rescue-c-a-s-e.aspx

I’ll probably keep it one more season and replace. I do like the small size, fits in one of the forward fish boxes out of the way.
