I use the phone holder spot on my 245DC and used a USB cable for charging to the USB charging port below on the dash. The mini bungee cord was getting loose, so I used some Velcro to hold it, A little wide and not top notch looks. But the cool thing I did, is I secured a wireless charger pad behind (in the console) behind the phone holder spot. It works going through fiberglass and no more USB cable.

I was looking for one like that, never found it, and settled on what I did, which so far works with the boat on the trailer.

Wish I'd thought about this earlier. I'm on my 3rd USB charger. I've got to widen the hole for the new one. Didn't bring anything to do that with when I went to install it a few weeks ago. I like the marine charger. Put a picture of your mounting if you can.
Here's the mess I'm dealing with when I get some time to work on the boat. I do have it working and like the battery readings, it's just a little too big.

I got lucky and found a previously taken photo that shows the wireless charger, taken after I put the autopilot in. I added the photo to my original reply above. The right and left sides of the charger are spring loaded so they grip the phone tightly and center it over the charging area. I would have preferred to install it vertically since that's how I use the phone most of the time, but I didn't have as good of a location for a vertical mount. The horizontal works fairly well though and I like the wireless aspect as my other USB chargers always seemed to corrode and go bad quickly, plus I can charge anybody's phone (as long as it has wireless charge capability built in, which most do these days) without carrying an Apple cord, a Samsung cord, etc. I recommend this charger if anyone is thinking about it.

jerryk, dash looks good. I can confirm the cords are a problem. I'm too cheap and dread replacing my phone, but my phone will only mostly charge on a wireless, usb works, but connection has to be perfect. I tried multiple times new cords, blowing out with compressed air, toothpick...

Same issue with cords not charging and hers is so old it can't do wireless charging. Finally told her a new phone is her birthday gift this year and she's getting it or nothing.

DM, what wireless charger did you put back there? And how did you attach it? I too am looking at redoing some things and think the wireless would be the way to go!
I added a new bungie as mine had stretched out as well. I bought some off amazon and just knot it after pulling through the holes. I have plenty to redo a new one when this one stretches out.
