I have a 245 DC. The macerator pump is all the way in the back and impossible to reach. Any tips?

Are you talking about one from the head to the holding tank and you mean back of the head?

I'll let someone else (hopefully) chime in. I've heard the fish box grouper pump is difficult to replace, but haven't done myself.

this ? came up on the facebook sailfish group, not sure if same boat but I'll make the same suggestions. make the motor well access hatch larger. Abandon bad the pump in place and install new that can be reached. Third option (which I don't like) put hatch in swim platform above bad pump

FYI that pump looks like a grouper gulper pump which is a diaphragm pump, not a macerator (which has a grinder up function). Just to be clear that this ISN"T the pump that empties the head holding tank, which IS a macerator as it grinds up the poop and paper before tossing it overboard. The fish box pump only deals with small chunks of guts and blood and slime without clogging, which makes it one step better than a bilge pump...but it doesn't grind anything up.

Update - to remove this, find someone who has long arms and is 6 foot 4 (and can use tools by feel) to get the screws in the back. After removing it and testing the pump, it was not the pump, but a wire connection issue elsewhere. Once that is fixed, I lean towards not even securing it with the two aft screws, and only the two in the front, but we will see.
