Happy Father's Day to our Sailfish dad's. Hopefully your plans include getting out on the boat with your kids and that weather cooperates. All I know is my Yeti is full of ice and drinks.

Happy Father’s Day Sailfish Dad’s. Tight lines, screamin reels to all. Remember, if there was ever a weekend to buy that once in a lifetime fishing/boating gear item this is it. No better day to ask for forgiveness than tomorrow.

Well, somedays dads and granddads have to spend father's day for others. My youngest granddaughter is having her last dance recital after graduation. Somehow the recital ended up on Father's day this year. So, my son-in-law (the real fisherman in the family) and I will both be watching a dancing recital this Father's day. Believe me I'm planning on using my 'guilt' card soon.

Took my two sons out today to do a little perch fishing in the small bay outside of our creek (it's a popular place for boats to anchor and raft up).
About an hour into our fishing we hear some commotion from a large sailing cameraman about 100 yds away. We hear a man yelling "Call 911!"
I switch to 16 and hear a woman calling in a mayday call for someone that was in the water and didn't come up, man in blue and white board shorts. We immediately Motored over but I didn't want to drive through the area out of fear of striking the person.
A dive team was on the spot in literally 10 min, DNR, Tow Boat US, and thr Coasties eventually showed up. Then a state police helicopter. The dive team was in the water pretty quick.
I idled around the area by their boat with my sonar going and my oldest son on the bow keeping a look out. After about 30 min the divers recovered the body. The fire boat immediately began CPR and took off.
The boat had a lot of people on it and from what we heard from other peeps anchored in the area we knew, they said they were all having a good time all day.
A sad reminder that life is fleeting. May he RIP.

Dang that’s terrible. I fished Saturday and spent half the day Sunday cleaning the boat with the radio going and a cold beer or two.

We had a boat heavy father's day weekend. No fishing, but good times.
