Attachment DeletedAttachment Deletedhe 2004 266 had these tank holders when I bought it, I've had the wholes glassed in and I mounted a bench seat and backrest (Birdsall Marine) in its place. I've also installed 2 backrest for bow seating (Birdsall). The bow backrest needs to be angled back 15%. Attachment Deleted

What did Birdsall charge for the front seat back rests? Was it a full kit? My wife would love a pair. Rag’s

I'm pretty sure they were around $400.00 for the pair. Birdsall around Xmas sometimes has a sale. They are Great! Easy in / Easy out. But make sure you have them angle them back at least 15 degree's. Too straight up otherwise.

Looks great. I have eyed those backrests up a few times. I have speakers right where they would need to mount so i have been trying to think of other options.
Rear bench seat looks good. Looks much more comfortable than the sailfish one.

removed all the decals on both Yamaha's. A lot of hours with a heat gun and sand paper. Then I gave them to a local Body shop with the Yamaha paint I bought from a place in FL. Last step was putting the New decals(another FL purchase) back on. I took plenty of pics of the decals on the engines prior to removing them so that I could replace them in the same location. They look pretty good for 1700 hrs. A Shiny Yami is a Happy Yami! Looks great! For future reference, next time you want to remove those pesky old decals, 3M eraser wheel and drill, no fuss, no muss.

The funny thing is, I live 4 miles from the 3M Headquarters in Maplewood, MN. I do use a lot of 3M products and did try the wheel, only after I had most of the decals off. I hope I never have a next time.

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedFriction Hinges! Another game changer for me. The little things help. I was able to replace the factory hinges with Gemlux Friction hinges for these three hatches. The slamming of hatches on a boat makes you on Edge as the captain. This improvement takes some of that away.

I replaced most of my hinges with the Gemlux friction hinges. When they upgraded the hinges they were practically giving away the old models.
