My Gemlux friction hinges were no longer friction hinges after 12 months.

My Gem friction hinges are starting to lose their bite. My floor deck lid will stay open if its 90 degrees, but I cant open it partially with the lid slamming back down. I use to be able to do this.

I think you guys may have the older style that they discontinued a couple of years ago. They're not great on heavy hatches but seem to be holding up pretty well on the smaller hatches like the bait well cover. I think the new ones are friction adjustable but it was a couple of years ago that I was looking at them.

On the Q and A section of the Gem site it says the old hinges were god for 35 inch pounds and the new ones are good for 45 inch pounds but none of the ones they make are adjustable. Rag’s

Mine are the "new" style. The new ones are $25, and the discounted ones were about a $1. I invested in the new ones for the deck hatch, the two under-seat storage compartments, and the anchor hatch.

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAnother change from the Sailfish floor plan. I'm in the back splash well netting salmon. Didn't want to trip on the hose. So I added a LED light to the transom and moved the Fresh water washdown to the starboard side. I replaced the pump while moving it also.

That is a great idea. I never understood why they mounted that big fitting for the wash down on the out side of the transom. What lite did you put back there? Did it cover the old screw holes? Rag’s

I moved my wash down to the same location as yours a couple years ago. It's a great move.

Yes, the light covered all of the holes. We fish salmon at low light and having a light back there is nice.

I hope that you make sure that the fitting on the hose connection is tight and not leaking every day. If you develop a leak, it will drip right on that breaker below it. I would relocate the breaker.

Good catch on the breaker. I'll probably just move the hose to the next hole below the breaker. I used the exciting holes for the plate, so it shouldn't be that much of a PIA.

Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAnother Project completed. The new drawers were made by Deep Blue marine out of Florida. Pull out drawer on top and a tilt out on the bottom. Identical set of drawers on the starboard side. Had to move some plumbing on the starboard side, measured 3 times then cut in. Yes, they are custom. Around $700.00 for the pair. Looking forward to using them in 5 months...........

That's very nice! You can never have too much storage.
