Finally! Got my settlement letter from insurance...I pushed back a bit on their initial offer and ended up with the dollar figure I wanted plus I keep the boat, so very happy! Good job Allstate 99.9% sure I'll repair her, but still need to get real estimates for the fiberglass work. This is great to hear. And when u said earlier you had Allstate I had a feeling you would be ok. Rag’s

Well, this should be the final chapter to this saga. The last few weeks have been hectic. Bought a new trailer and picked up the boat from the marina...she was looking pretty rough, but it felt good to finally be accomplishing something. Backed her into the driveway and started the endless cleaning process. After about the tenth time I hit my head on the bent t-top, finally had enough and pulled out the sawzall...about an hour later it was off. In case anybody's wondering, an 08 Sailfish t-top is worth about 24 dollars at the scrap yard . Cleaning helped a lot, it really isn't that bad. Called about 10 fiberglass shops all the way down to Tampa (everyone is so backed up around here) and finally found someone ready to start on it. Figured I'd spend last weekend doing some more cleaning and take her to the shop this week. Last Thursday, my wife and I were discussing repairs and debating whether to go with a white canvas top again or another color...so I googled 2860's to see if I could find one with a blue top. Came across a new for sale ad (posted that day) for our exact boat...a 2008 2860, one owner, 300 hours! It still has the functioning membrane switch and halogen lights, lol. Put a deposit on it, drove to so fla to sea trial it Saturday...boom, sold! I have been looking for a boat like this since the day after the hurricane, crazy that one finally appears just as I'm about to fix the old one...destiny! So now I'm debating what to do with the old one...could try sell it as it or fix it and probably get a little more for it, but not sure I want the hassle. Glad it's all finally over and I can just go fishing!

Wow, glad you found what you were looking for.
You could go either way on the old boat. A lot of work to get her back like you want, but that’s also a lot of money. Sell as is, you won’t get much for it probably. It would be a great project for someone with time on his hand.

My 270 CC was totaled in the same barn. Just ordered a new 290 CC yesterday. 8 to 12 weeks for delivery. A big thumps up to everyone at Pirates Cove!

You're going to love the 290. We looked at several other brands while waiting for ours to get pulled out and kept coming back to Sailfish. Along with the improved ride, you'll really like the in-floor fishboxes...less mess when fishing and opens up all that bow storage.

That’s awesome!! Seams like either way it should be easy to unload the old boat and make a few bucks on it. If it was a 26’ I would be all over it. Rag’s

Once it warms up, maybe we can get together and catch a fish or two.

jski59 - Congrats on finding a new boat. Glad it hear that it seems like its working out for you. IMO i would sell the old boat as is. If insurance made you whole then anything you sell the old boat for is gravy. Spend your time on the new boat enjoying time instead of fixing the old one. Again this is just my opinion. I can fully understand keeping it for a project if your into that type of stuff.
aquaholic5 - Congrats on your new purchase. Im hoping to move up to a 29 soon. If you dont mind, what is the going price for a new 29?
