Pic is from last week. Fished my friends 26' Cobia. Caught 9 nine bass trolling in about two hours, released 5 back. All big fish, 25 lbs and up... It was a good day. Fishing has since slowed the past few days... Hopefully more to come.

Good for you... I would have been happy with any fish this season. Hoping next gets better.

I fished monday. I trailered up from Atlantic City to shark river inlet. We fished just south of inlet and did ok. Seas were flat. Fish were there but turned on and off from sun up till 11. We caught ours on mojos and bunker spoons. Friends of ours caught on bunker snag and drop fishing. Two of my friends fished out of atlantic city to long beach island and caught zip. I did read of a few 40 -50 lb fish taken out of the area though.

Nice going. Sure it was fun landing the big ones. Hoping to see them return to Chesapeake Bay one day. I still have mojos, stretches and poppers ready for their return. You all get bird funnels when they are in a feeding frenzy? We used to track the fish by tracking the birds when striper were plentiful down here.

It was great catching the big fish, but the smaller ones are so much better eating.... Made it easy to throw the bigger fish back..... As far as I can tell from reports off Long Island, it seems most of the bass are still north in that area. This time last year was great already for a couple of weeks. Hopefully it will light up over the next two weeks.... gonna get cold quick. Heading out again Sunday, we will see...
We had ours on white and yellow mo jo's....

Being from Florida I just had to Google Mojo fishing lures. Some good videos of fishing them for striped bass.

Those are some nice bass! I'm pretty sure the second one down on the right was not a candidate for release!

Mojo's are the best. Not cheap and keep them out of the water when the bluefish are around... they destroy them, and at $40 bucks a rig, the blues can make for an expensive day...
