I need one to heat shrink wrap electric terminal connectors . Any suggestions, what is everyone using ? Can you use one that would be used to light cigars ? I'm going to attemp to clean up some of the wiring mess this spring.

Get a heat gun - pretty inexpensive and you don't have to worry about burning yourself, something close to the wire or running out of butane. Do you have Harbor Freight near you?

X2 on heat gun where you have room. But a small torch works good in tight spaces. Just be sure you don’t burn your boat down.

I have both and use the butane much more frequently than the heat gun, especially in a boat yard where access to AC is not so convenient. The two boats I burned weren't deemed total losses by the insurance company, so fin I'd highly recommend it to you.

What could go wrong?!!"
