New generation - new values. My wife and granddaughter watch YouTube videos together. Videos are short, funny and almost constant motion. Movies you listed are great IMO, but would sure have trouble holding kids attention in today's environment.
She went to a birthday party/sleep-over last night and the mom had a rule - NO PHONES. They all complained, but her rule was to make sure they talked to each other, rather than to their friends who weren't at the party (good idea).
For sure, electronics has changed the world and the experiment is still ongoing. Good luck!

We do that too!! The boys have a sleepover, all phones are checked in. All parents are onboard Amazing how they revert back to being creative, fun kids without the electronics.

However I have much better luck watching comedy movies with him. He loves the movie The Heat with Melissa McCarthy. Not to appropriate but we get to spend time together laughing.
