Vegetable
I’ve always eaten a lot of veggies. Just mostly for the health benefits. But I do enjoy them. I’ve just never really had an “man I really want xxxxx for dinner tonight” veggie
Last couple years though, it’s been asparagus.
Man talk about tasty and versatile. It goes with shrimp, fish, beef, deer, chicken, pork, heck I eat the leftovers in my omelet in the morning.
You can roast them, grill them, steam them, nuke them. They take just about any seasoning or without.
Yep. It’s asparagus.
Yours?

We have had a garden my whole life and eat fresh vegetables almost everyday. I eat anything that comes out of the garden but my very favorite is okra. Fried, boiled or gumbo.

Back when I was 17ish, I needed extra cash and took a second job (pt) ....picking okra at a commercial farm. F T S! I’ve done so many manual labor jobs from shoveling pig shit, digging ditches for a plumber, bailing hay, etc I lasted one day on the okra picking farm. Enjoy your okra lol :-P

I like asparagus, but the wife - not so much (okay, she won't eat them at all). So, we settled on kale. Kale plain, with vinegar, with sliced potatoes, or with ham hocks and mixed with collards and mustard greens.
We used to get kale that was grown on my grandfather's old farm and canned locally, but the owners retired and now we have to buy large cans commercially canned and grown elsewhere. Tastes the same, but we really enjoyed knowing it was local once.
