Went down to the boat yesterday to give it a wash and run it a little, and my starboard trim tab was not going up and Dow. The motor was running but tab was not moving. I had my buddy to put light pressure on it while I worked the switch. It worked fine while doing this. We put her in the water and run it around for an hour or so and it worked fine. I’m guessing the pressure from the water was enough to help it out. My question is has anyone noticed this before with theirs? Should I go ahead and order a new actuator? I took the old one off and lubed it, but just not working right.

Sounds like the worm gear is going.
I'd order a new one.
One of mine went out a couple years ago, it was a relatively easy swap.

That’s what I figured. Thanks for the confirmation. The swap should be easy. I had it off and apart yesterday, so no problem.

Believe it or not, the biggest pain in the ass was getting their deutch connectors together such that power was being supplied to the actuator.

Thanks Chris! That’s the one I thought was right but I have no numbers left on my old actuator.

Is the one that is not working correctly louder then the other? One of mine is so loud I can here it over the motor and often wonder if it’s on its way out. Rag’s

Both of mine have always been loud for what that's worth.

Damn you guys have me wondering now. I've never heard mine but they seem to work, I think. Although I have a noisy ass 2-stroke.
