FWIW, the 245 hull is a relatively new hull to the SF lineup - different strake design, better at pushing water down. The 275DC hull is the same hull as the 2660/270 cc which has been around for years and designed after the Mosely SeaCraft VDH.

Since my wife picked out the 245DC over the 275DC, I'll have to thank her once again. You got to love it when your wife says it's "time to get a new boat, and it's my turn to pick it out". Guess she learned more than I thought during our years of boating.

275 is the same hull as the 270/2660. The 2660 is a little wetter than some comparable hulles because the strakes are oriented such that they dont knock water down. Also the forward chine isn't very pronounced. On the plus side it is a super soft riding hull.

So by the title of this thread I am assuming the 27CC Sailfish is a wet riding hull. I know that any center console can be wet in certain conditions depending on wind/wave direction, load etc. but is the takeaway here that Sailfish center consoles are just wet boats regardless of size?? I love the build of my 2380CC but yes it can be wet at times.

Your hull and the 2660/270 are the same hull, yours is just a bit shorter - they put a plug in the mold and you lose some length in the stern. I think my hull is wetter than a lot of other brands due to the chine and strake design which allows water to climb up the bow and come back over into the cockpit - this in a quartering wind. That said the same hull design allows it to ride incredibly well. Even my wife who has back problems said, she'll take a little spray over any semblance of pounding. I just love how this hull rides, so soft.

My son-in-law was telling me, while handing me some fresh tuna, that he went fishing about 80 miles offshore on a 33 foot boat that was the smoothest riding center console he’d ever been on. Asked him if it was wet as most smooth riding boats are and he said yes.
Guess the trade off is consistent across brands. If it cuts through the water like a knife you’ll get wet.

Yea the famous Mosely Seacraft hull/ride which our hull design is influenced by is rumored to be on the wet side. Potter later added a pronounced horizontal chine which I assume the purpose was to improve the dryness.

Nice. I am going to put them on my 2660. How long are they? What’s the exact distance from the keel to where the start. Curious to hear your thoughts when you run with them. Do you have a picture and how are they? Thinking about getting them.

The wet ride saga continues. I don’t buy it. The old saying of not peeing into the wind will always be accurate. My wife gives me the evil eye if she ever gets a spray while on the boat. It’s an activity on the water, sometimes it just happens.
