Made the long 62nm trip in search of bluefin. Released probably 15 skippy’s, pulled the hook on a nice mahi, had a big mystery bite off (lost my brand new joe chute on that one) and boated an under BFT. Hoping to try again next wknd.

Glad you got out. I love fishing the blue water. Sounds like plenty of action.

Sounds good to me.
120+ RT plus trolling. How much fuel did you burn? How were conditions?

Ya 62 miles out in a 2360 if conditions get bad that makes for a long ride home. I'd be chicken to make that trip without a buddy boat to run with.

A buddy and I try to take turns on each other’s boats and this trip was his turn. He runs a 23’ Parker pilot house. Conditions were pretty good on the way out. Got a little bumpy about 10 miles before the edge (about a 3’ swell with 1’ chop on top) then was nice all day including the ride home. Burned 82 gallons total. My 2360 is more comfortable and feels safer being higher above the water and higher bow/gunwales and softer riding. I’ve gotten pretty confident in reading multiple forecasts before these trips and am not afraid to turn around if need be. It looks like my turn may be comming up this wknd. Ordered some replacement joe chutes and can’t wait to get back out there!

Leave early and come back late with a box full of fish! Thats really getting to be a haul now. Depends on weather of course and if the admiral is up for it. lol. Should be about a 100 gallon day putting me right at the 1/3 rule. Just need some stars to align. That break sure looks nice though.

Indian River De. The Admiral is in! The forecast is a little less than perfect but there is still a lot of time yet. Fingers crossed.
