I was running the boat around 32-33mph and 4300 rpm for about :20 min then the rpm and the speed dropped. A min or two later....popped back up.
This happened 2-3 times. I have no issues at WOT 45 mph yesterday (not for :20 min though), no issues trolling for hours.
It doesn’t sputter or anything. It just drops rpm and then comes back up after a min or so.
I’ve never had an issue with the motor (@900 hours). I’ve had bad fuel before but it ran like crap, not like this
Is their a sending unit that regulates this? Other?
I’m going to take it in, just like to hear some ideas.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Doesnt your motor have an internal VST filter? Have you checked your fuel water separator filter?
Drop an entire bottle of Yamaha Ring Free into your tank and see if that helps. Could be some carbon build up.

I would also try doing like Chris suggested. Intermittent fuel issues can be difficult for even a Yamaha mechanic to pinpoint.

Primer bulb collapsing? Have heard that issue fairly often.

Fuel seperator was replaced 1st time it happened
Did not check the bulb. Damn. P
Hmmm carbon buildup.
Vst ...all these options. Ugh.

I'm going with VST filter if it's anything like the HPDI's. But sure sounds like a fuel filter partially clogged.

I did put 90 gallons of fuel in at a ‘new’ marina then the problem started
60 days ago all new filters were installed.
I drained the seperator into a glass jar and let it settle After it settled there was some product at the bottom. I’d say 1/2 a thimble of some darker liquid
The fuel filter looks clean
I did some reading and you are certainly right. This does act like vst or o2 sensor (not replaced)
