To add to my barrage of stupid questions, I'm looking to see where those of you with autopilots have your heading sensors installed. I'm not planning on installing my AP until after the season, but I'm tired of my GPS screen spinning in circles.
I'm thinking of putting mine in the console in the forward compartment that runs under the deck. I have not quite figured out how to get the wire back the the console; I don't know how the runs work. It will probably have to run through the bilge them pop up in the panel somehow.

Mine's inside the console right inside the console door on the flat spot next to the cup holder. My first try was inside with the mess of wiring behind the console area on the floor of that area but it didn't work correctly there.

Although a DC is different, like kbh my first attempt was too near the console wiring. It worked okay there, but not as good as I wanted it to work. Depending on what direction I'd be heading, it would be 4-6 degrees to starboard or port. Relocated it about 2 feet forward of console and now it's fine.
