Hi all, hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! So I would like to install a rear swimming ladder on my 236. There is a rear fresh water tank under where I would like to install it making access to it almost impossible. Has anyone had any experience installing one. I almost thing I have to install a inspection hatch in order to reach there the bolts would go.

I could look at my friends 2006 and see how it's mounted I think the two are similar in design

If it's a 2006 2660 the tabs for the most part are under the boat. On a 236 and 266, if the boat had trim tabs they were mounted to the transom and get in the way of the practical use of a swim ladder. You might be able to find a way to get a ladder physically mounted to the boat, but the trim tabs are going to present problems when it comes to planting your foot on the rungs that are opposed to the tab itself. I've not seen one, so if someone does have one mounted it would be great to see some photos of how it was accomplished.

Good post, the first photo shows clearly what you need to do to get the swim ladder out and away from the trim tab. I've never seen this on a 236 or 266 before, thanks for posting.

On my 03' 236 i have a ladder very similar to the garelick sport ladder (http://www.garelick.com/Stainless-Steel-Sport-Diver-Ladder). The receiver is mounted on the transom next to the trim tab actuator. It has an extension (http://www.garelick.com/Transom-Mounting-Extension-Shim-99184) so that the ladder clears the trim tab. I store the ladder along the aft transom above the motorwell. The ladder was already installed when i bought the boat. I did have to remove it and remount it to add a backing plate. You are correct that it is a PIA to reach. I had to use all of my socket extensions to get to it. Any chance you can reach it through the access plate in the motor well? I don't have any good pictures of this with me but if you want i can take some and send them to you. If you zoom into the transom area in this photo you can sort of make out the ladder. Mikey, when you can I would love to see you post a few pictures of the ladder when the boat is out of the water.

Her is some photos of my 2004 236 it had the transom extension on it. I can’t help with how you get to it but other then a handle mounted by the transom door the ladder works great. It is also collapsible so it is easy to store. Hope this helps. Rag’s
