Buyer freaked??? Very peculiar response from a seller. Maybe because he knew something... You wont be the first or last buyer to ask him to have it done.
He probably saved you a lot of money on a survey and engine diagnosis.
Cracker a member here runs a 2360 with 115s. Not the fastest but hes always saying how much he likes the set up. He was a FL water cop for many years too.
You will not find a 2660 rigged with 115s, at least not from the factory.

I've never heard of the twin 115 being offered on a 2660 that must have been a misprint.

Had the Exhaust scoped today. I need your opinion on the two pics. The service dept. says the pitting in the pics. is not of any concern. Is this true? /Users/DG/Desktop/IMG_4248.jpg /Users/DG/Desktop/IMG_4247.jpg

I cant see the pictures, but if that is what the mechanic says, why are you doubting them?
If you google Yamaha dry exhaust corrosion there are plenty of images to contrast against.

The pictures should be up. This was the sellers mechanic. Just want to make sure. I'm trying to find the images again on the internet.

If it is corrosion, it looks to be very light, as in just starting out. Looks a hell of a lot better than some of the really bad pictures I've seen.
I wouldn't not buy it based on those pictures and what the mechanic is saying.
If it is just minor you can install the new exhaust sleeve to stop it so it doesn't get worse, spread and eat into your block.
Buying it or not, I would recommend you email Andy Jr at SIM Yamaha the pictures and ask him for his assessment. He is a Yamaha Master Technician. He can also sell you the new exhaust sleeve if he thinks you need it. I suspect you are okay (for now).

I emailed Andy the pictures yesterday. If it needs to be done later on I will probably do it myself. $800-$900 for parts instead of $3-4k mechanic. Thank You for the help.
