I am looking into purchasing boat insurance for the new 270 that is on order. Does anyone have suggestions for companies that insure in Florida? Seems like they avoid taking on new clients who have boats in Florida. Thank you, Rob

Called Charter Lakes don't insure in Florida because of hurricanes. Thanks anyway.

I think I’ve got charter lakes, and they are really Travellers. Also, if you are going to get Tow Boat, they have insurance.

Bradley Insurance Group Pompano Beach 954-785-5000 Ask for Ron Bradley Jr. I was with Geico and switched just this month. Saved me $700 a year for identical coverage. Tell Ron Jr. Todd from Vero Beach sent you. He’s a good guy and treated me right.

Look at foremost insurance company. I’m not sure if they are in FL or not but they have a good policy. The company I work for does not operate in FL.

I got quotes today from Progressive, Ski Safe and Boat US, all are in the low to mid $700 per year range.

Interesting. Boat US through Geico was $700 more than my new policy.

I will check with Foremost Foremost has a good policy, just make sure that the quote is with an "Agreed Value" policy. Foremost and other Ins. Companies have Non-Agreed Value policies that are cheaper. It's not a bad idea to check your policy every year to see what your Sailfish is insured at $$ and compare that with what they're selling for $$. A lot of us have made improvements to the Sailfish, keep your receipts, that would back up your justification of a higher insurable value in case of a claim.
