I got sailfish 270cc. Want to install a 1kw airmar ducer tru hull for my simrad What would be the best location? I was thinking in the transom area next to the Bilge pump. Anybody installed one in there 270cc ? And pics and info would be great Thanks

Yes but on a 2360. Mine is port side of keel. My opinion it should have been starboard side due to the head pick up that is just port of center lane amidships, but it doesn’t seem to have affected it.

Can you post some pics ? Also how hard was it to install ? Thinking on doin it myself but afraid of doin it wrong specially if I have to drill a big hole under my boat . Lol

Here you go, outside and inside. I had it done as part of a complete electronics upgrade and autopilot installation. Without a doubt cutting the hole has to be hardest part! Others that have done it will chime in I’m sure, but find your spot inside and start with a pilot hole inside out. Then tape the area you are going to cut on outside to minimize chipping. Cut the big hole outside in. Seal it with 4200. You use 5200 and you can never remove. Good luck.
Can’t attach pics, site is full again. Anyway, my rear bilge pump is centered on the flat portion of keel. Transducer is directly to port, half way between keel and that first chine.

Yup, right about there. Mines a mirror image over on the port side. Maybe 3-4 inches further aft.
