When I got my boat new before the initial motor warranty wore off Yamaha offers a policy called Y.E.S Yamaha extended service. I did buy into that about 2k for both motors. Never needed the policy bad spent money. I'm not a fan of these extended policies if it's a proven product why buy onto it.

They want $10k, it’s bumper to bumper. Have to decide by tomorrow… Have to decide by tomorrow.... always makes me think it's not a good deal. If an honest business is selling a good product, they should be happy to sell it to you whenever. You're closing on the boat and having it winterized and stored immediately right? Why then the urgency, my sense is to panic you into buying it. I'd at the very least ask them why you only can have a day to decide.

That does feel like a high pressure sales job especially if the boat is going right into storage for the season. 10k is a lot of money, personally I would pass but this is definitely a personal decision. Good luck.

I passed on it, I asked if they could budge on the price and they wouldn’t. The finance guy at Marine Max is the one selling them, I‘m sure it’s one the only ways he gets kick backs in his position.

If it's like Lynnhaven Marine in VA Beach, it's a percentage of the sale. So, it is in their interest to get the most they can. Lynnhaven did have my permission to contact me over any offer they got, however I never got an offer less than my selling price.
