Some of you know my wife has been fighting breast cancer since she was diagnosed in March. She started chemotherapy June 6 and the ole girl is set to have the last treatment on Nov 22. She’s had some rough seas to navigate over the last six months but the end is in sight. So I decided to throw her a “Ring the Bell” party and purchased her very own cancer bell to ring on her final day of treatment. Planning for all her friends and family to come and “ring the bell” to celebrate with her. The link is a pic of the bell and the note below it is the engraving my boys and I wrote. We hope it cheers her up and inspires her as she prepares for surgery just before the new year. The quote is what she always says to her students at the end of her morning announcements. Today is the day I dreamt it would be, together with my friends and family. Place your hand over mine to ring three times this bell because your love and support helped me get well. "In a world where you can be anything, be kind" With Love From Your Family

Todd, so touched by that bell and your update! You've both been through a lot this year and deserve to ring that bell a lot to celebrate, and the Admiral sounds like a class act all around. Best wishes to you both, and I wish we could have connected while we were on the east coast waiting out the Ian damages.

I watched my sister in law ring that 8 months ago. I'm thankful for you and your family have made it through such a difficult time. Great idea keeping everyone positive.

Terry, so touched by that bell and your update! You've both been through a lot this year and deserve to ring that bell a lot to celebrate, and the Admiral sounds like a class act all around. Best wishes to you both, and I wish we could have connected while we were on the east coast waiting out the Ian damages. We will connect eventually Jerry. I have relatives in Naples and Fort Myers that we visit 2-3 times a year, except this year. On one of our trips in the new year I will be sure to reach out. The Admiral has made it clear that she wants to get out, travel, and enjoy the weekends. She’s had enough of being in the house since June.

A milestone has been reached. The little Admiral completed her Chemo treatments on Tuesday. 16 visits from June 6 to Nov 22. Lots of side effects and discomfort but she kicked ass on every measure. Just had her last MRI yesterday. Surgery is scheduled for Dec 30 then a decision about radiation once the pathology reports are reviewed. Celebrated with a little parking lot celebration and she rang her bell with each friend & family that could join us. Today she’s wiped out and went back to sleep after our Thanksgiving Dinner. But, she’ll bounce back in a couple of days and improve everyday. So very thankful her journey has been successful this far.
