Anyone run any wiring from their hardtop down to the helm on a 275 DC, or any model for that matter? Does Sailfish add a pull string going down one of the top supports to pull wiring with? Where does it run and how do you access it on top and bottom? I hope to add radar and will need to run wiring up so doing some homework first.

On the CC's they leave a cable pull or two which runs from the chase way behind the helm up through the ttop leg/frame - theres a hole on the side of the pipe work at the top where the wire pull pokes out and is coiled. The cable pull is also visible behind the helm near the bottom/chaseway if I dig through the mess of wires/cables.
I take it you have no visible signs on your hardtop of frame or inside an electronics box of something similar or under where your life vest storage, even check behind one of the hardtop mounted speakers?
Looking at pics of other installs is seems there is a mounting pad central on the hardtop where the radar would affix. Presumably the cable will come out underneath and run through one of those cross chaseways under the hardtop to either side or back to the pipe work where there is presumably a predrilled hole already?

I have a 245DC and there was a pull string, but it terminated deep in the gunwale I was able to retrieve it. I was installing a VHF and a radar at later date and I could not get the terminal end to make the bend at the top. So, I had to lift the top about 4”. That time it took me a little while, but when I install my sionyx next week, I’m just going to cut to the chase and lift the top, which this time I figure about ½ hour. I had help lifting the top, as one of us stuck a 2 X 4 on edge, to provide enough room to direct the terminal end. I think I also ran it down the front starboard support, which required me to drill a hole from the bottom up in the storage area below the base plate. However, I forgot why I ended up doing that.
If you go to 5:44 in the video below there is a little bit on it.

I like this guy's strategy for fishing a line through so that you can get a cable pull through pipework.

When running my radar cable I fought it for hours and got frustrated and ran it outside the support, drilled a hole behind the galley and pulled the cable through. Not too ugly, but not pretty either.

Hey Richard, cause I'm OCD, anal to name a few afflictions, if seeing that cable bothers you, have looked into something like this? Won't make it disappear but it'd blend in better fo sho. Thanks all. The radar I'm getting is wifi so I only need power up to the dome which should make it a bit easier, but I am hoping to find a fish tape and run the power up through the tubes. Will let you know how this turns out for me.

I think this is what you were referring to and I'll see if that looks better than whats up there now.

Yea I don't know why it was doing that, I linked another item to try and fix it, but yea that's it!

I ran the cable for the night vison camera, not easy but doable, like the radar the hard part is getting the terminal end to turn corners. white wire previous from radar, black is camera, top is up about 2"

Would have made it a lot easier. I drilled into the hard top directly below the radar unit and fished the cable to the back of the hardtop using the cable channel. Then I tried to put it into the support along the back of the hardtop and then fish it into the support going down. Impossible for me as long as the hardtop is fastened to the supports.
Like the night camera. Using their hand held model mounted to my windshield support when I'm out at night and viewing on my iPad really works great for finding crabpot buoys, pound net stakes, etc. And, I've gotten some really great videos that look as good as daytime. Just so much better than trying to see in the dark or trying to use lights. I'd consider the hardtop mounted camera if it wasn't for having to fight another cable.

There was no way I could figure to run either radar, VHF or camera without picking top up. running a wire in the built channels in the hardtop was easy enough, but scary with the mounting screws, as I want to be sure all mounting screws ended up in the channel, along with cable hole.
I used the camera in my backyard and it defiently can see more then I could without camera. Might be out early morning one day this week and see what it looks like on the water.

I am hoping to not have to lift the top, but so far haven't figured out where the lights and speaker runs are made. Until I start taking things apart I can only guess that those wires go up from the starboard aft top support as that seems to be the most likely location for those wires to go up...and I'm hoping to find that out for sure once I remove my refridgerator and a speaker from the top to scope it out further. But that is only one of my challenges ahead as I go through the install of radar and autopilot. In checking the helm it seems to be very tight on the hydraulic line connections behind the wheel so the autopilot too will be a lot of fun (not!). Right now with the temps in Florida I don't see either of these jobs starting anytime soon. My boat is on a lift, and working on it in the sun and Florida heat is just inhumane even if I hire some or all of it out. I also have a pretty full July planned already so will be tabling all boat work until later on. Armchair research is all I'm doing right now, sometimes its better to think twice and act on a well thought out plan once!

Jerry, Sorry, but the autopilot won't be fun to install, but great once it's in.
You could look at mine:
Or do a search in DIY for "245DC Autopilot" so see some others.
