I'll accept your raise and raise you a bait well full of bait LOL. BTW, I forgot to mention all new Gemlux friction hinges to go with the bait well cover and the other hinges. You win, I fold............

Good job. The fish box insulation has always been my favorite project on your boat. I would love to do the same on mine, but can’t seem to find the time.

Mikey, it all looks fabulous!
When you cut out the hole for the Cubby between the now insulated fish-boxes, How deep could you've gone? I'm looking to put a 3 Tray Tackle Center there and I need 9"'s of depth . Do I have that?
Thanks!

I'm looking to put a 3 Tray Tackle Center there and I need 9"'s of depth . Do I have that? Thanks! The cubby i put in is 12" wide, 14" tall and 5.5" deep. I could have probably gone another 1/2" on the depth before hitting the fish boxes. Since the fish boxes are at an angle you can go deeper but you have to reduce the width. Also this is on a 236 so i would assume there is more room on your 266.

Time for some more ideas.... This worked out very well and I really like the extra storage it created. Not sure if this would work for all models but it's great on the 218 opening up the Porta-Potti storage area. Since you can't really get to this area from inside the console as soon as you put life preservers and other crap down there (assuming you ditch the PP) I cut out an opening in the floor at the front of the console and put in a hatch with a drop in insert. The insert normally holds all the dock lines and when lifted out you have enough room for a second anchor, anchor line 2 or 3 fenders and a spare prop, with room leftover. Another little quick and easy addition. Originally I put in a double cell phone charger. Later, after replacing the radio, I wanted to move the USB port to the console so I added the small combination USB port and mini jack. Both with good waterproof covers. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

After a summer fishing on 40 some foot charter boats,, came to appreciate the benefits of cabin space .
First turning console from storage space to mini cabin, fine for 2 or 3 boys, or adult plus youngster.
