For gelcoat polishing, just tried Smoove Pro Cut and it worked pretty well, going to follow it up with some 3M finesse for a little more shine. Will finish with Starbrite Polish for the final coat. I also like the Starbrite non skid cleaner and Woody Wax for the piping. Toilet bowl cleaner from the dollar store for cleaning the bottom.
My last two Sailfish had this funky yellowish stain on the inside walls of the console, used a few sponge samples of Z Cleaner from West Marine and it was the only thing that worked. Bought a bottle, good stuff!

Collinite for my waxing needs. It is a bear to apply, but lasts longer than anything else. I have had good luck with 3M compound and a Porter Cable 7424 to remove oxidation and clean up the piping. Aerospace 303 is the jam for all things vinyl. Easy to apply and the UV protection is great. Makes blood cleanup on the cushions a breeze. Barkeepers friend with a little bit of water makes a great paste to remove rust stains from the gelcoat.

I like the me guile’s one step compound a lot. Been using the premium flagship wax to follow up with blotchy results. I now have their polish and pure wax on hand for next time which may be soon!

I've used all kinds of boat soaps and waxes, but two products I really liked were spray cleaners that were great for getting stains out. One was Tuf Enuf that a salesman at West Marine recommended to me. It was great at getting blood and gut stains off of my white decks. It was pretty much spray it on and wipe it off requiring only minor scrubbing to get fish parts off of the boat. After a good rinse it left the gelcoat looking very shiny. My wife bought Greased Lightning from WalMart and I found it worked about as good as Tuf Enuf and it was a lot less expensive. I also used FSR to get off rust stains, which fortunately I did not have a lot of.

Smoove Procut 1000 and polish, Nufinish, Marine 31 mode remover, Flitz, Woodys Wax How is the Smoove Procut to work with. My splash well area needs some attention. Or because of the tight area and angles I'd be better off going with wet sanding ? As for the rest of our members you may not have any interest in the jigs, but we would still like to here what products you use to detail your boat.

Low rpms to start for the compounding, then increase the rpms to finish it off with to a polish. Glen I learned a while back to take the least aggressive approach first. If you have a hard time reaching certain areas with a mechanical polisher I wouldn't wet sand because you have to compound/polish that sanded area mechanically when you're done. Try a standard white wool pad first. For tight spots they make small pads for just that.

Hey Glen I picked this Flitz buff ball up recently. Tried it today on tarnished chrome faucet and my headlights - used with Flitz. Worked great. It's small, so I see it coming in handy for stuff.

Thanks Chris, going to order and give it a shot. I've been putting the splash well area off with minimal amounts of effort the past few seasons. It looks nice but needs to be better... O.C.D. lol
