Shit always tends to break when you're on a trip... So last week was gearing up to fish, connected my raw water wash down hose gave it a test,,, nuttin .. poked my head into the bilge, pump was running, seacock was open, hose sputtered water a bit, then stopped, then sputtered water a bit more... Damn! I filled up the fresh water to use instead. Any ideas?

Shot in the dark mine was doing the same thing and the ball valve for the Seacock was not fully opening even though the lever was in the open position. Is your bait well getting plenty of water.

Does your boat have the Bait Sentry live well pump? If you do is that pump working OK? The Bait Sentry is a pass-through for the raw water washdown pump. so of the bait well isn't working either than the through-hull may be clogged. If the live well is working than it sounds more like it might be time to repair or replace the raw water pump.

Good thinking I have not checked. Isnt it the same pump for the live well too? I could try filling by pump. How did you resolve that?

Well I learned a couple of things today... 1) That my raw water pump has a strainer. Thanks Headhunt! 2) That I do believe my pump is shot. It is original after all. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Livewell fills up no problem.
Considering the pump is 9 yrs old it did pretty good.
The pump looks relatively easy to change. Is there a better version of this pump that I should be considering? I prefer plug and play here.

When I replaced mine I went with the same one so the mounting holes lined up, seemed as good a reason as any. Just be sure you get the salt water one.

And I know you checked the deush-bag connector first right?

At least pull it apart and look for corrosion. I’ve had several things that weren’t working, start to work when I cut that connector out and replaced with butt connectors to include a wash down pump and a bilge pump.
