Hey Everyone, I have a 2011 218 and I am looking for some storage ideas for the inside of my center console. I dont want to have to just throw stuff in there, I want to make it somewhat organized so its easy to get stuff out. Does anyone have any pictures of storage ideas for the inside of there center consoles? Trying to get this project done in the winter/early spring so that it is ready for big trips in May.

I’m not sure if your boat came with nets on the walls, but mine did. They are handy for storage.

Mine does not have nets on the walls. I heard the blue performance cabin bags are good too. But I am also just looking for pictures of peoples set up so I can gauge some ideas. I am also looking for some ideas on what to do with the space where the porta potty is. I am thinking I am going to take that out and use it for storage.

I would love to take the porta potty out but wife will not like that idea. I am looking as well for some good ideas. I have a 29CC and it has some drawers but still need more.

Here's what i have. Some blue performance bags on the wall for storage. Some plastic hooks to hang bags from, these are really handy, they keep it so bags dont get buried (potentially smashing the food) and bags are easy to grab. I have some plano dry boxes that stay in the console (tools/first aid/weights/fish cleaning). I have a 5 gallon bucket that is a collect all for that day (shoes and other small random items). Then i have a rectangular bucket that has some stuff in it that stays on the boat (binos/rain gear...).

I like those blue bags....
I probably need to keep the potty for the wife... I sure hate cleaning that thing out. My biggest issues are where to put the live raft and tackle storage. The fishboxes are awkward and they really don't keep the ice cold.

I like those blue bags.... I probably need to keep the potty for the wife... I sure hate cleaning that thing out. My biggest issues are where to put the live raft and tackle storage. The fishboxes are awkward and they really don't keep the ice cold. I told the wife from the beginning that we wont have a head. She had to learn to use the 5 gallon bucket. I decided to be nice and bought a snap on toilet seat for the bucket so its a little more comfortable. The daughter has gotten good at using it too. I looked for a life raft that would fit easily (key word) into the forward fish boxes and eventually gave up. In the second picture in the previous post you can see where i put the raft and ditch bag. They are on the step going into the console. I don't always have the raft on board so that spot has worked out well for me. If you ever want to improve the ice retention of the forward fish boxes let me know. I went through a bit of effort adding insulation and it seems to have improved them alot.

Do you just have the life raft for added safety if stuff goes south? Or is that required? That all looks real good. I need to get some hooks and bags up on the walls.
This might be a stupid question, but when you put the wall hooks up, what type or screws did you use and do you just tap right into the fiberglass? This being my first boat over 13 feet I have never actually drilled into the fiberglass of a boat.

Dipper - The life raft is not required (as long as you don't have paying passengers). When I started taking my daughter over to the Bahamas (she was 3 at the time) i thought it would be a good thing to have in case things went bad. For family trips in the bay i don't bring it with. Its primarily for whenever i'm offshore with the daughter.
I used bolts to mount my hooks. I have easy access to the back side so it was easy to use a bolt, nut and a washer. On my boat the fiberglass there is pretty thick so i think a screw would have been fine.

Yeah that would make sense for offshore. Good to know! And I like the idea of the bolt better. Makes for a trustworthy hold. Thanks for the help!

I know. I have been looking for a simple PLASTIC wall mountable hook and up to now I thought it is the unicorn of hooks. I ordered 6 of the toughooks. Shipping sucks (more than the cost of 6 hooks) since its coming from the UK.
