Pump forward of console? Stern pump doesn’t come on? Have you checked stern pump to make sure it works?
Live wells are probably most common source of water. Leaking through hulls but sound like you checked that.
How about your anchor locker? Rough enough for water to be as high as that drain? It’s just a hole with a pretty metal piece. Pull out the anchor and rode and look around in there.
Another common spot on the stern are those access covers in the splashwell, but if stern pump works and forward pump coming on, that shouldn’t be it.

It’s odd, the stern pump does not come on it’s the pump forward of the console. It is occurring both when the boat is at rest at the dock in flat calm water and when I am out using it.

Is there water in your bilge also?
When the pump comes on is it discharging a lot of water?

I had leaks in the two drain holes on the motor well when I first bought my boat. Took them out and re-caulked them and fixed the problem. They would even leak from small waves lapping against the transom.

There is water in the bilge. The forward pump runs for about 10-15 seconds and it’s a rule 750

My next question is how much water is in the aft bilge? If it’s enough to get forward and make front bilge pump activate? In which case leak could be anywhere on the boat vice focusing on the forward half.
I’ve heard of these pumps being wired different ways so I can only tell you my setup. Fwd pump is wired direct to batteries, it is on regardless of battery switch position. Aft pump power is cut with battery switches.
You can check those inspection plates in splashwell with a hose on them while watching in through transom for leaks.
You can check livewell by closing seacock, drain, and fill valves. If leak stopped you have now isolated it to that system.
Use your freshwater and raw water wash down a lot? Check those hoses clamps and connections simply by turning pumps on. Should cycle pump to build pressure, then not run again unless used. If it cycles on intermittently there is a leak somewhere in that system.
Also, do you trailer, and if so do you leave plug out? Lots of water gets into bilge through rod and cup holders, and especially through the fwd in floor box. Lots of stuff blocks water flow in there to stern, but storing bow high with plug out helps. Some bilge cleaner may also clear some of those passages.

I've had several friends that owned 236's. When they sit in the water the mid bilge is where water tends to collect. In the 266 there is more weight aft, so the bilge water collects in the stern.
Since this is occurring even when sitting at the dock you've really narrowed down the possible points of entry to something that is below the waterline. In the transom you might want to check the lower engine mounting bolts. My 266 leaked from them. I had the boat hauled and the bolts were re-bedded. Check around any through-hull fitting. Are you deck drains on the exterior of the boat above water? If so you should be able to rule those out. I've never seen a garboard drain plug leak before, but that is another possibility and probably hard to detect a leak unless it's bone dry when you check it.
Good luck, I hope you can find it.

Thanks to all for your help!! I found it. The front seacock was the problem. I pulled the boat and filled it with some fresh water and waited. The bedding was the problem. Removed it and replaced it with a new one. I think this winter I will do the rear one as well. Once again thanks everyone!! Have a great weekend

I know where the rear seacock is located on my 236. Where is the front one located? Mine leaks as well but not too much.

I’m guessing he has an electric head. There would be a through hull and seasick for that.

I’m guessing he has an electric head. There would be a through hull and seasick for that. That would also be my guess. Mine has no head and one rear only nothing forward.

Yes, mine had a marine head and there is a seacock located just in front of the console.
