I just got off the gator hunt. I take the boy to MI in a few weeks for his youth hunt Then very soon FL hunting starts. So far I’ve struck out( 0-14) on state land draws but we still have the property in Gadsden County and a buddy offered his place 75 miles north of here.
Anyone else hunt?

I grew up deer, bird and rabbit hunting. My dad used to take me up to PA every year for opening day of deer season. We have family up there. Went off to college, got a job, got married, had kids and havnt done it much since, life just seemed to get in the way. Last time I went deer hunting I went while I was down at college, hit the national forest in the mountains of SW Virginia.
Never got into bow hunting, but that's all my brother does now.

I don't hunt because it's a winter sport and my time is zero during the winter. I could sit on my front porch and get all the deer I want bastards are shiting on my lawn every night. Saw a nice size buck today in my brothers yard. My friends son has been baiting the area waiting for Sept.15th bow season opens.

Deer and duck down here in NC. My 11yo has been getting ready for bow season, stands are set, hope I can get him out there around work, school, soccer, etc. I always think I’m going to pheasant hunt, but never get it in. Grew up pheasant hunting up in mass, some of the birds were even still wild back then.

We kill and eat anything that flys, walks, crawls or swims. I didn’t get to hunt any last year but plannng on dove hunting Labor Day. I was born g to not bow hunting until last year, now I can’t climb trees anymore. I help my nephew get ready for deer season and let him do all the killing now.

Love it here in southern DE. I am blessed with about 100 acres of either my families land, or neighbors small farm, with only me having hunting access.
Boys and I are constantly building new blinds, in proving old ones, or managing habitat.
September is busiest/ best outdoor month, mahi fishing inproves , crabbing , baiting pots using mahi carcass, great, Dove , goose, and deer open on September 1.

This is the gator that was hanging out at our marina. Gator season opened this weekend and someone got this sucker. They have trying for a couple years to kill him, but he was slick. 13 feet 6 inches.

Where in Michigan do you go? I'm north of Ann Arbor on some land and also hunt near Alpena. If you need anything while you're up here, let me know. I'm 45 minutes from DTW as well. I'm just starting to get my boys into actual hunting. They have helped me track, spot, scout, prep, etc since I could carry them. The oldest is just starting to get into the spirit of the actual hunt. He tracked this guy for me last fall. Truthfully I had already tracked him, then I went and got the boys and we started at the stand and had him lead out from there. Great experience for bot father and son IMO.

Nice deer! It’s great to get them in the woods early. Some of my best memories are helping my dad and granddad track deer when I was young.
