We have it but it's hard to find. I've always run ethanol so filling up with it doesnt present any problems for me just so long as I use my fuel regularly which I do putting +/-160 hrs per season on my boat.

My was 1/2 full - hopefully I will not have any problems in the spring - they put in a new water separator Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's not just the water. Sadly it's also the loss of octane. It's a long story, but the net of it is I lost an inboard engine to bad octane years back. Lots of possible causes, bacteria, ethanol separation, etc. Mostly comes from failing to put stabilizer in the tank and having an exceeding long maintenance period without running the engine (my previous volvo mechanic should be tarred and feathered and run out of town).
Anyway, short of it is, even thought I use Valvtech gasoline I still add Sta Bil in the winter to avoid water absorption or other gasoline problems. I'd buy non-ethnol gasoline, but the only marine selling it is over 25 miles away by boat and a hefty toll if trailering across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. You should be fine if you added a stabilizer. If not, add it before filling up and fill up before using the boat ( or do like finatic and drain the tank first ).

I have always run non ethanol except when I fished in a sailfish forum tournament in Boca about 8 years ago. The only gas station close to us didn’t have it. Burned almost all of it out before we headed back to MS.

And as mentioned the rate that the octane drops in ethanol fuel is alarmingly fast.

And as mentioned the rate that the octane drops in ethanol fuel is alarmingly fast. That’s my understanding as well. We trailered it with about 40 gallons of non ethanol then filled up with high octane (200 gal). Burned it down to about 20 gallons for the trailer ride home. That’s the only time she didn’t get the good stuff.

When I fill up the tank I always fill with a higher octane fuel to offset any octane degradation that might occur by the time I need to add gas again.
Otherwise I use what they sell at the dock which is usually 91 octane and only put in a enough gas to get me through a couple of weekends 1/3 of a tank or so.

I’m ready to burn some of this high dollar go go juice. The big tuna have shown up on the lump but you need a freaking 42 Freeman to make it out to them. If it will lay a little, I’m going.

Damn. That boat has so many places to put fish, you could end up forgetting where you put them.

If you get to a point where you dont like what your reading hit the back button. seems crazy but works How's the boat build going? Going great thanks for asking. The boat popped out of the mold 2 weeks ago. Stringers are in and next week is gas tank and finishing out fish boxes etc before the liner goes in. I was at the shop earlier this week and brad said it should deliver Aprilish. These gas prices are gonna hurt this summer with Trip 400 V-Rods. But ya got to pay to play I guess. I thought about posting some pictures but didnt know if it was appropriate on another boat manufacture's forum. But if yall want I will post some up.
