Finally found time to do some more scoping on the drain issue with the center storage deck drain. The bottom picture is the thru hull for the drain and as you can see it's just a simple thru hull, so nothing there is causing the problem. The top picture is inside the hose about 18-24 inches. I put it in where the center storage drain hose begins and it appears it's almost directly below the captains chair.
I get a similar picture from the thru hull and as you can see the hose is attached to something (I suspect a backflow device that was installed backward).
If I put a hose into the thru hull I can get water to shoot up to the hardtop. However, if I put the hose to the center storage drain I cannot get water to pass out but in drips.
I'm not ready to cut into the deck since I don't know what is under the captain's chair and how I could get it back in place safely, but that's what I think would need to be done to get access to the backflow device. I was going to remove the hose and let water go into the storage drain and bilge, but I don't think that's the right solution and who wants more water in their bilge?
Any good ideas on how to solve would be appreciated.

Hard to tell what I'm looking at in that first picture Richard.

As I go into the hose the scope stops and I cannot twist or turn it to allow it to go further. I back off and the picture appears to be a full circle smaller than the hose. I suspect it is where the hose is connected to the backflow, but that picture is the best I could get. I get a similar picture when coming in from the thru hull. The distance the scope travels before getting stopped puts the 'blockage' just under the captains chair, or very close to it. When I scoped from the speaker by the captains chair, or the opening I made to access the steering hoses to add the autopilot I cannot see much except the hose appears to go into or under something and after a lot of trying to get a better view I gave up. Best picture I got is below.

I scoped mine and can only confirm that about 18" in, hard stop, I cannot figure what it is. My plan, when I find time is to take the speaker out, as mentioned above, and scope from that.

View AttachmentI think I might call Sailfish and find out if a backflow preventer is installed, if so it sure seems like it's backwards, then ask them for some advice.....

I talked with Aaron in customer support. He doesn't think there is a backflow in the hose, but will check further. I sent an email with more detailed information and pictures and am hoping Sailfish can come up with a possible solution.

Like it was said earlier, it is hard to tell from the internal photo, but is it possible that what is showing in the photo is a kink in the hose, not the back of a backflow preventer? I would think you would see some hose clamps in an external photo where the backflow preventer was installed in the hose if there was one.

Aaron's response: Yes, #16 is the ski locker drain, and #21 would be the sink drain that would tee into that. We do not install a check valve. My guess is that you may have a hose with a pinch in it, or some blockage.
The hose numbers are from the owner's manual. My guess is the unseen clamps are the tee that the sink, center storage deck drain and hose to the thru hull connect to.
Be nice to know if other 245DC owners are having this issue (I know some expressed they had the problem). Is it only with the galley that the problem exists?

What happens when you put a hose in the sink drain?

I didn't try it before since it drains so slowly once the drain hose fills up. I'll have to try it next time I'm on the boat. Aaron asked if when I put the hose to the thru hull does water come up the sink drain and I'll have to have someone in the boat while I test that. Last time I put the hose to the thru hull everything got drenched and I didn't check the galley sink.

Aaron Foglesong is the right guy to be talking to, he has worked with me on my new 2021 245DC. If you run into trouble, let me know and I will give you someone else there as a contact.

Seems very odd that you can blast water from the thru hull into the drain and it hits the hard top, yet only drips going the other way. I'd think a kink in the hose would affect flow similarly in both directions....

I agree. That’s confusing me too.

Aaron is right. Forced water into thru hull and it came out center storage deck drain. Then forced water through deck drain and it went out the thru hull similarly (and forced water into the sink so there is a Tee in the line if you have a galley). If the water has no or little pressure there is no movement or only drips. Agree it’s probably a pinched hose… but other than deck removal and a hose replacement, what could help? Not looking to do major surgery.
