270, 2016 yr -- two baitwells, I seldom use more than one, but occasionally. However, three times the bait well pump has gone out - twice electrical - once jammed with weed-- I expect bait pumps to go out, they're not going to last forever, but I sure wish I had two pumps with two bait wells. Each time I lost all my live bait while offshore, argh! I'm going to try to put a second in myself. Probably not rocket science, but just reaching down to connect / disconnect existing pump requires a contortionist. Probably just put a on /off switch down by the pump, not worth running wires from the console (and doing it right). But any thoughts would be appreciated...

What baitwell pump did your boat come equipped with? One baitwell is in the transom, is the second one in the leaning post? If you have an open switch on the console it shouldn't be too hard to get wires pulled up to the console, the two chases in the hull are fairly large.

I agree about the major drains going overboard. I don't know yet if the Sailfish will have the same problem as my Robalo had, but since the Robalo was dry stored in a boatel the water in the bilge and center storage areas never drained completely and caused mold. I had to clean it up 3 or 4 times a year and there were places I just couldn't access properly to clean. After washing the Sailfish on a rack soapy water will drain out - but not all of it. Forgot to mention since it's a dual console 6 rod holders, 10 cup holders, center storage, console storage (I haven't verified this one yet), head floor drain and 1/2 of the galley sink all drain into the bilge. Due to a slow center storage deck drain (not blocked, just very slow to drain) a lot of water ends up in the center storage area. I'm hoping I can solve the slow drainage, but have only had time so far to make sure it isn't blocked. On a trailer with the plug out, it probably wouldn't be an issue at all, but in the water or at a boatel water in the bilge can be. Got spoiled with my Albemarle. In over 10 years the only water in the bilge was when I washed out the bilge area. I don't expect my Sailfish to be dry, but I want to make it as dry as I can. Unless you are missing something the only drains on my 245DC that go to the bilge is the one in the bottom of the center stowage area, the fresh water tank overflow and a couple of rod holders, all others including the cup holders along the gunwals and in the refreshment center all drain overboard, left and right respectivly. I will advise you to keep the center locker and the fish locker (one with the gulper pump) open when not in use. 1 year and 2 weeks after I took delivery I noticed some gel coat blistering. The repair shop came and looked at it to submit a warrenty claim and said it was due to the thick black insulation padding sealing the lockers off so well moisture can't evaporate when sitting and this causes the gel coat bubbles. SF have told me to pound sand as it was out of the 1 year warranty! I will be making a post in the next few days of my endless fixes and repairs I have had to do in the past year on a 6 figure boat, to the point I am seriously considering selling it!!

The port side galley sink drains overboard. The starboard side has a clear small hose bundled to the cup holder drains that would appear to go to the bilge. It may not as I can't see what happens below the deck, but from the size of the hose I'd say it doesn't go overboard.
I'm interested in the history you have with the boat and if there are things I could do that might avoid the issues you've faced. I'll see if I can rig the boxes so they can stay open safely when the lift is moving the boat to the boatel. It does bounce the boat around, but I agree not having standing water in the storage would be a good idea and mine stays wet. Fish box too. Funny though, on both my Robalo and my Albemarle the fish boxes always had some water left for weeks after cleaning and neither of them developed blisters.

klsaltlife Curious to see all your issues, have a bunch myself. Some are same issues you have had on the 245. Sad dealer support and warranty support. NJ marine max only sailfish dealers in the state and they won't service my boat. Considering coughing up the bucks for a Grady or Whaler Jim

Considering coughing up the bucks for a Grady or Whaler Jim 8 yr old Sailfish boat with gaskets seals on fish boxes/storage lockers and no issues with blisters. The only time I prop my lockers open is for winter lay up to keep mildew growth away.

I would like to see the wrap around back pads in the front like the 2360 and 2660 had. I can't understand why they have taken these away. I can't imagine it would be as comfortable for the girls up there with the pad coming to their shoulder and the gap down to the seat.

I have an older 236
But I think if mine had 3 more feet and an additional motor it would be the perfect boat

I wish you guys would learn how to answer a post with a quote on it. Especially someone who's a MOD. Ummm, errrr, Glen....
Why do you keep posting in the same balloon as the original? Go down! I mean, go down a line and start your own response.

Please,,,, spare me the lesson on the do's and don't of posting. To be truthful it has no meaning to me MOD or not. I've never been one to be proper. Sorry Pal.
