Who’s Doing what? Since I sold my boat I’m looking for the next sled. Need an older 24 ft dual console, with hardtop and 300 hp 4-stroke. I know I know. I’m looking for a unicorn. But with patience the hunt is fun.

But with patience the hunt is fun. I agree patience is the key. That's how I found mine. Brand new found a dealer looking to get out 20k below market. I wasn't even looking at the time but pounced. Good luck with the search. Happy your sticking around.

I added 2 rod holders to the bow, on either side of the anchor hatch. I have a windlass mounted on top of the hatch, so it is screwed down, I was praying that when the dealer did the install of the windlass they didn't use 5200 anywhere, and luckily the screws came out relatively easy. Everything went smoothly, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit my nervousness when putting the 2 inch hole saw onto the deck for the first time.....

I took a 4 1/2" hole saw to the hull to install a transducer and needed a change of underwear after that. 😂

Being in South Florida always boat things to do. Had our ICOM VHF repaired and just re-installed it. Cleaned up some wiring while I was in there (still a rats nest but better). Detailed (wash compound wax) complete boat top to bottom inside and out. Removed toilet, holding tank etc. That's what I be doing.

Just moved my 2860 out of the dry rack to the side of the "new" house...first time I'll be trailering in 12 years. Thankfully the ramp is about 300 yards away, inside the neighborhood Looking forward to coming and going when I please, only having to load gear once and cheaper gas!

Used the DA and Presta Ultra fine polish on my hull today in an effort to get rid of some hard water spots that even 50/50 water/vinegar wouldn't touch. It worked!
Followed that up with 2 coats of Alwcare polymer sealant.
Going to pull props tomorrow, clean off the old grease inspect for fishing line and regrease the prop shafts, then I'll replace the water/fuel separator filters.
Lastly I'm going to drag her over to the yard this weekend for a fresh coat of white bottom paint, then she'll be ready to splash.

Sounds like a good plan Chris. I started detailing today myself. I'm doing the entire boat in and out with Pro Cut 1000. Then two applications of ceramic coat from Turtle wax the product is so easy to apply lasts twice as long as any wax I've ever used.

Done with the maintenance stuff... I'll pull the cover off tomorrow and get her out of my driveway- my wife will be so happy. Speaking of covers, I think my cheap $400 cover is finally shot. One to many holes. Climbed in the boat today to find a couple if bow cushions soaked and a bunch of helicopters and other tree debris. Found a little 2"x2" hole. Hard to believe all that shit came in that hole! I priced a t-top cover today in Sunbrella fabric - $1,900. $1600 for the 9 oz non sunbrella fabric.

Ouch! Canvas is so durned expensive considering the weave is on machine and automated. Covers can't really have THAT much labor to stitch edges, zippers ect. into them, can they? Still, my money is on the Sunbrella and it's worth way more the the 19% premium over the other material.

I just installed my new 9oz t-top cover last weekend; fit was good, I'm happy with it.
Rolled up, it's still heavy as shit though...it's going to suck dealing with it in the Florida heat.
